How it's calculated

Desk height = standing height × 0.404

seated desk/keyboard height ≈ 0.404 × height; chair seat ≈ 0.255 × height; sitting eye level ≈ 0.93 × height; standing desk ≈ 0.59 × height. Height in cm.

Common questions

What is the ideal sitting desk height?

It depends on your height. For someone around 5 ft 10 in, a desk near 29 inches usually keeps elbows at about 90 degrees.

How high should my monitor be?

The top of the screen should sit at or slightly below eye level so your gaze drops a little to read it.
