Paver Calculator (Patio & Walkway)

Figures out how many pavers you need for a patio or walkway from the area and paver size. It accounts for joint width, pattern waste, and includes the base material volume in cubic yards.

How to use
  1. Enter the project area or its length and width.
  2. Enter the paver dimensions and joint width.
  3. Pick the laying pattern for the right waste factor.

Common questions

How much waste should I add for pavers?

It depends on the pattern. Running bond wastes less, while herringbone and basket weave need more cutting, which the tool factors in by pattern.

How deep should the base be?

A typical patio base is 4 to 6 inches of compacted gravel. The calculator returns the base volume in cubic yards for the depth you set.
