Common questions
How is BMI calculated?
Weight in kilograms divided by height in meters squared. For imperial, multiply weight in pounds by 703 and divide by height in inches squared.
Is BMI accurate for athletes?
Not always. Muscle weighs more than fat, so very muscular people can land in the overweight range while having low body fat.
